Enhance learning from a unique perspective! Using improvisation, movement, acting and music, NWCT teachers help students develop a performance centered on curriculum workshops designed by the classroom teacher and NWCT. Residencies meet ODE Arts Benchmarks. Here are some sample Classroom Residency titles:

Grades K-12
Use your classroom's favorite book for theater exploration as students experience literature from the inside out
Grades K-12

Play Write!
Grades 2-12
From monologues and scenes to fully developed plays, students draw upon personal experience and curriculum content to write their own performance pieces. Students engage in the creative process while developing literacy skills.
Grades 2-8
Cost: $80/hour
Choose a title from NWCT’s catalog of plays, and watch your students act and sing to create a 30-45 minute play. We provide your students with an experienced staff-director, musical director, choreographer, and stage crew as well as sets, costumes and props. This program is an event for students, parents, and the entire school. Here are some sample Playlab titles:
Shakespeare-ience!
Grades 4-12
NWCT instructors help you choose a title from Shakespeare’s canon of work and adapt it to suit your students’ needs. From the “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to “Romeo and Juliet,” students revel in The Bard’s language, characters and themes.

It’s All Greek to Me!
Grades 4-8
Humor and mythology are woven together in this lively farce! With a flexible cast size, this comedic show will work for any school! Students have so much fun, they forget they are learning! Available with or without music.

Rumpelstiltskin's Revenge!
Grades 6-12
Poor misunderstood Rumpelstiltskin! All he wants is for his side to be heard. Lucky for him, we do just that! Take a fresh "pop style" look at this old tale about spinning straw into gold! This playlab is available with or without music.

NWCT is excited to announce it has acquired the Young Players Drama program! This series of after-school workshops allows kids to have fun expressing their creativity in a safe, nurturing environment. Students use basic theater skills such as improvisation, puppets, creative writing and games to create an original performance piece.
Young Players Drama Club ensures that your children receive not only a great education in drama, but a truly uplifting theatre experience!
